GoFundMe so I can have teeth!!! by Sinned-angel-stock GoFundMe so I can have teeth!!! by Sinned-angel-stock
>>Link is here: gofundme.com/lr5dgw <<

So I'm running a GoFundMe.

I have the genetic connective tissue disorder Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which took my teeth. They started crumbling when I was 19 and I had them removed last year when I was only 27 years old. Now you know why I don't ever do stock with my mouth open :) But if I got these dentures, I'd be able to finally make real expressions again, lol

It will cost $30,000 to get implant assisted dentures (I can't do regular dentures for reasons explained on the GoFundMe link).

Please donate, and please share. Thank you guys <3

Best wishes for your GoFundMe: Dental Implants.

(Ow, it hurts just reading about, like reading about the trouble Professor Tolkien had with his teeth and dentists, when he was at Oxford, in the UK.)

The link to your page was posted with the photo Goddess - 4, by mjranum-stock, which was used in a piece inspired by Let's Play The Similar, But Different Game!, hosted by ManipulateThis.

Again, Best Wishes. And, Take care.

I have UCTD (Undifferentiated connective tissue disorder) as well as lupus and I understand what you're going through with pain, exhaustion, etc, stairs, showers, and everything. It's amazing that you are able to raise two children, it's all I can do with one dog! I wish I could donate, but my medical bills are too wracked up. However I will share the GoFundMe for you to my facebook and hope some people there can help out.
You may want to also try to get on disability yourself (I've been working on that for two years but it's pretty hard). Mine is autoimmune related though yours isn't, but it can lead to it so you might want to consider getting Avise blood tests done yearly. It checks your antibodies and looks for any that are attacking your own body. So many of your symptoms match mine that I can't help but wince for what you're going through. I really hope you get the funds for your teeth!

Oh no :( I suspect I have a lot more than just EDS but doctors in my area are very dismissive so I have been having trouble getting anyone to take me seriously. Ugh yes, the bills are starting to pile up here too...unfortunately this is just one of them, haha.

I really appreciate the share. The more eyes I can get to see it, the better!

I don't qualify for disability :( I don't have enough work credits. And I'm quite functional. I'm miserable and in a lot of pain, but I'm functional. And we make too much money for me to get SSI. We are still trying to figure out the whole puzzle. CTD's are especially bad because collagen and whatnot are in every part of the body, so who knows where it could manifest. I don't understand how that can make sense to me and not to doctors ahahahaha!

I know what you mean by dismissive doctors, I went for at least 8 years untreated (they initially just diagnosed me with ITP then ignored me) though my symptoms started 14 years ago. Getting told things like "You don't look sick," "It's all in your head, here are some antidepressants," and "You're too young for anything serious," had disheartened me to the point of giving up until I finally found a doctor who was willing to look into things 2 years ago. If you ask for specific blood tests, though, the doctor can send it in and check it out for you! Avise measures antibodies and is often used to diagnose autoimmune disorders (including arthritis), request a full physical yearly and they will do blood tests and food allergy for you as well as tests to check to vitamins, thyroid problems, etc. Look for a general practitioner that's willing to listen at least and perform tests for you! They can't argue against solid proof even if they want to. Shopping for a good doctor is like shopping for a good house, once you get a good one you never want to let go of them =P I have a GP and 6 specialists right now and I got them all from careful shopping and checking of reviews and stuff! You'll know they are good if they start researching EDS themselves, too, after you explain that you have it.

SSI can be got even without enough work credits, but they give the base amount of money they can which is around 700-800 depending on the state you live in and your monthly income. Could see if DFC is willing to help with some of the medical bills since your husband is on SSI, I still haven't figured out how to get them to help me with mine. I get denied every time even though I have no income besides what I'm able to make when I'm able to draw. But yes, you do need to get the full medical thing together and that takes time, it's a huge waiting game to put the puzzle together. With all my doctors it's been 2 years and we finally narrowed down a lot of the stuff, but none of it has gone into remission unfortunately. It's been a battle, but I'm able to move most mornings now and haven't been bedridden in months so we're finally getting somewhere! My antibodies are so high though that they quit counting after the 200 mark on everything my body is producing to attack itself. I totally get the whole "Who knows what will happen next" feeling since every month or two something new crops up! It's scary, but it sounds like you have a great support system with your husband and your family, so hang in there! I hope you are able to get your dentures soon!

Also the medical system can be confusing, so if it all gets kick started after finding a good doctor who is willing to send you to the right specialists and everything you need to see. Another one of my issues is severe memory problems (Memory span of 2-3 weeks at best before things get lost) and comprehension issues, but being in the system for two years now and puzzling my way through it means I broke it down until I could understand it =) If you get referred to specialists, do it! They can help narrow your problems and diagnose things properly, but make sure they are willing to listen and, if you have anxiety problems, are also patient. With the stomach issues, you should be seen by a gastroenterology, joint pains and bone issues a rheumatologist is probably a good bet. Also don't make the same mistake as I did and just take trial medications; people like you and I have enough problems, we don't need more added by becoming lab rats for the kind of doctors that are willing to throw out pills willy nilly just for the extra income for themselves. I actually do thorough research now on various treatments and ask my doctors about them and listen to their suggestions, do research on that, and they let me make my choice on what methods I want to go with.

I think I'll leave it at this after making a long post xD I hope some of this is helpful! You sound like you're stuck where I was at for years with no idea where I was supposed to look at next. Most doctors won't do the research for you, they want you in an out of the office so they can get to the next patient quickly. Gotta work for each step in the direction you want to go in and make them send you to that!
