My new tat 3 by Sinned-angel-stock My new tat 3 by Sinned-angel-stock
Yes, it's real.

No, I don't care if you don't like it. It has meaning to me, and yes I'm aware that it will stay on my flesh for the rest of my life. I'm quite content with that thought.

Yes, I will get more. Yes, I have a freckly back.

It hurt, but I like to think I was a trooper. My skin is so sensitive, I swelled up before he could finish it, so it still needs a touch-up, but we're waiting for it to heal.

Its pretty though. I love tattoos. And think that you got one for the right reason. Because it meant something special to you, even if nobody else gets it. those are my favorite. >.<

It's the tetragrammaton, which is a series of symbols meant to represent the name of God.

I love it. My wife has a Hebrew tattoo as well. I like that all Hebrew tattoos are ironic because Judaism frowns on body alteration.

Lol. People are so judgmental. I wish sometimes they'd just leave well enough alone. I mean, I've seen some people that have tats that I'm just like...WTF, why did you get that? But I keep it to myself.

It's so sad that you are so beautiful yet still have such low self-esteem and such a bad self-image that you feel the need to scar your body.

Wow, you didn't even READ the description. Good job on being a close-minded, judgmental asshole. Really, I do appreciate it. People like you just make me more confident with my own self. Congratulations.

You should definitely cosplay Orihime from Bleach -- fullBore hardCore. You can pull it off. Give 'em somethin' to talk aboot. [sic] And then send me hi-res photo images. (pretty please)

I read your "description". Result: You're not the boss of me. ;o)

So you can be judgmental about what I think / do / say, what-ev-ar, but it is wrong for me to do the same regarding you?

(that was one of them there rhetorical questions -- but, knowing you as well as I do, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if you answered anyways)

And you can act as a Bwitch toward me, for what you oh-so conveniently CHOOSE to interpret as me being an "asshole", where any DECENT person would interpret my words as what they really were: "caring" and "concern". Don't look in the mirror for 13 hours or your head will implode.

And based on just that, I think you probably should look up the definition of "closed-minded" in the dictionary and read it several times. (and then quietly sit and contemplate it for a time, just for good measure)

Remember: False self-confidence is the first sign of a lack of true confidence, as well as my initial concerns about your lack of self esteem and poor self-image. And apparently a host of other related and non-related issues. (no doubt -- join the club)

Child much?

It's beautiful and thank you for sharing :)

I love tattoos (I only have three relatively small ones, but my bf has a lot of ink on his body). It's a beautiful form of self-expression.

It's nice your husband got a similar one...some day I'd love to have matching tattoos :D

I like this a lot. I've wanted a tattoo for a while now, but the whole "it's permanent and you'd better be certain it's exactly what you want" thing rattles me a bit. I get tired of a nail polish color after a week! :giggle: I've thought of either the cross on my dad's headstone or my favorite quote. Both have a lot of meaning to me. . .

And don't let the negative people ruin your day. Choosing to get a tattoo is a very personal, and often spiritual, choice. You own your choice. People can love it or hate it, but at day's end it's what makes you happy that matters.

Yeah, it rattled me for a bit too. I knew I wanted one since I was 16, but I didn't know where I wanted to put it...I waffled and waffled...and what's funny is that this one isn't the one I wanted way back when! I'm saving that one.

I am jewish, and I don't find it disrespectful, like some assumed.

I don't see anything wrong with expressing your love for something through art. Then again, I am not a typical jew, and have several tattoos of my own. I had that whole thing with the body is sacred, but is is also my canvas. I feel you should express yourself however you deem fit.

From what I understand, the thing about tattoos is to not get any that honor the dead. God isn't dead, so...it's not against any rules :P I don't really care if anyone thinks it's disrespectful...I went through pain and branded my body to show my dedication to God and to the cultivation of my soul. How is that disrespectful, I ask those people who might think it is so? :) I appreciate the support.

Really? I was always told that they were forbidden in general since it was considered defiling the body. Which never made sense to me because piercings were allowed. I would have thought piercings would be worse since you were actually removing bits of yourself. lol

The funny thing is that different versions of the bible say different things; my hubby is a fanatic religious-researcher, and he says that in the Dead Sea Scrolls version of Leviticus (which predates the modern bible), it states that "you shall not make gashes in your flesh for the dead", the statement that comes after, "or any marks upon yourselves" was added by scribes. (Leviticus 19:28) He says that the add-in was created when the Jews were living in Venice and they were such observation that anything that made them different had to be expunged. The Targum of Leviticus, exact translation of the remaining Dead Sea Scrolls regarding this subject (that the church has released), says nothing about tattoos. There's actually only two passages. The rest was filled in by the Talmud. And most of the rest of the modern Leviticus was pulled from a Greek document that bears the same name. It's really hard to trust anything you see regarding little things like tats; really what I just go off of is "don't murder, don't adulter, don't steal, be nice, etc, etc". Those are the biggees. :P The rest is just conjecture.

Well, my husband is a Jew. He actually encouraged me to get the tattoo and got one just like it on his forearm. I'm sure the traditional jews would find it disrespectful but they find everything disrespectful. So I'm not too worried about it.

It's a great tattoo, and they've done a good job with it. I understand that a person can be spiritual, without being religious, and I hope that people don't give you too much stress over it.

Beautiful shot of you, great ink, and I am always happy to see you sharing your work on DA. :)

I LOVE your freckles!
the same thing happened with my skin! swelled up huge, then he went around the edges again with red, then around that with black, with it heaved up!

Kudos girl...

Looks like you are so very self critical, that those defensive comments really originate from your self doubt.
that's exactly what I do....
