It is probably about time for him to be learning his new favorite word: "No"
When my son was about that age, I didn't have to carry him at all for a day and a half. He had decided to answer every question with "no". So, he would say "up, up" and I would say "Do you want to be carried?" and he would answer "no". He would then walk about 10 to 15 feet before asking again and the whole process would repeat itself. He finally decided that he would answer "yes" to at least some questions. Then I had to carry him again.
It's something we are definitely worried about, but I guess he's just one of those kids that doesn't want to talk...
He'll be going to his 18 month appointment soon and then I'll discuss it with his doctor and see if there's anything physically wrong with him.
I think he knows what we're saying and what we expect of him, he just doesn't care. He has a very, very short attention span right now, shorter than most other toddlers. I JUST got him to sit down and let me read a book to him yesterday, but not without a fight.
